WHO IS ALB?
ALB is a company founded in 1991 by Ana Lorena Bosch for the purpose of developing, promoting and making known the art of calligraphy and ornamentation by searching for modern applications for the techniques, materials and methods of ancient calligraphers and illustrators. This process is an inroad to the market of social invitations where we have found enormous possibilities for applying calligraphic techniques. As part of the development of this area, we have made original invitations, wedding books and scrolls that have been widely accepted. Therefore, as a result of identifying this market need, we came up with the idea of developing a new sealing wax formula that can be applied to social invitations, giving them an elegant distinctive touch. Later we developed new formulas that can be applied to other markets such as wine and liquor, packaging and decoration. ALB is currently focusing on two areas: sealing wax and artistic calligraphic creations. At this moment ALB it is focused on two areas: Sealing Wax and Artistic Calligraphic Creations.
Sealing Wax
We have developed a sealing wax formula whose handcrafted production is made out of natural raw products. Easy to apply, it sticks to any surface and offers consumers an assortment of 16 lines and options to create new, tailor-made colors, giving us more flexibility than other international manufacturers.
Artistic Calligraphic Creations
In keeping with the business's original mission, we work at developing and creating designs that are applicable to social invitations, books, posters, scrolls, among others, using the ancient techniques of calligraphy and illustrations; we achieve unique creations developed according to each of our customers' needs.
SEALING WAX TIPS
HOW TO WAX SEAL?
Invitation sealing is an easy process that can be fun if you have a little patience. If you are not experienced, we recommend experimenting on pieces of paper before applying the seal on invitations. 1.- To prevent the wax from sticking on the seal, we recommend using a sponge and a few drops of silicon (see Sealing Wax Kit), and spread it over the seal each time you use it. 2.- Hold the wax bar in one hand and a lighter flame next to the side of the bar in the other. If the flame is held under the bar, the wax will smoke making the color turn blackish. Apply approxima-tely 35 drops. 3.- Rub the seal over the sponge and wait 5 or 10 seconds before stamping over the melted sealing wax. The sealing wax will be in its hardening process and the stamping will be easyer. 4.- Repeat steps 2 to 3 for each wax sealing . When the sponge becomes dry re-aply a few drops of silicon.
ADDITIONAL WAX SEALING TIPS
If the sealing wax sticks to the seal cool off your seal with an ice so you can easily remove it. Do not use sharp tools to remove it because you will damage the seal. If the wax seal is not well stamped wait until the wax seal cool off and then remove it from the envelop folding the paper, after that you can wax seal on the same area. If when you are wax seling it is hard to remove the seal is because you need to use more silicon over the sponge. This may occur also when the seal it's hot, in that case you may cool it off rubbing it against an ice and drying it before using it again. If you want to re-use the seal stamps warm up the sealing wax bar and with the heat stick the seal stamp to the sealing wax bar so you can melt it again without burning yourself. If the sealing wax bar is at the end and you can not take it with your fingers warm up a new bar and stick the final peace of bar so you can melt it with out burning yourself. If you do not have any new bar you can take it with tweezers.

WHAT IS SEALING WAX?
Sealing wax, a solid paste that comes in small bars made out of a resin and wax mix, has different applications such as closing and sealing letters, documents, packages and bottles, among other uses. To wax-seal, first you need a seal. At the beginning they were used by emperors and kings and kept under the custody of special officials known as seal keepers. One of the properties of sealing wax is that it becomes brittle upon cooling, causing the seal to break when the sealed document is opened. Sealing wax is currently used to give correspondence a special touch or to decorate invitations, giving them an antique elegant look.

Video. Envelope Sealing.
Apply a few silicon lubricant drops to the sponge. Lubricate the seal rubbing it over the sponge. Heat the tip of the wax stick Stretch the melted wax giving it a circular shape. Stamp the seal over the melted wax. Wait a few seconds to allow the sealing wax to cool down. Remove the seal by vertically pulling it off from the wax.

Break a few sealing wax sticks and place them in a small pot. Heat the pot at low temperature. Maintain a 65 oC aprox. Apply a few silicon lubricant drops to the sponge. Lubricate the seal rubbing it over the sponge. With a little spoon, take the sealing wax and placed it over the envelope. Stamp the seal over the melted wax. Let the seal over the wax for a few seconds before removing the seal Placed the seal over ice and dry it. Place the sealed envelope over a flat surface. Repeat the process with each envelope
Video. Bottle Wax Sealing.
Place the sealing wax in a pot and melt to 60-65 degrees C. Place the filament tape in the opening area of the bottle. Bend the tip of the tape over itself to create a small loop. Submerge the top of the bottle in the melted wax. Allow the sealing to cool down before manipulation. Open de bottle pull the tape from the loop.
